SEO Web Development
Services
Most sites get built first and optimized later. That order costs you months. Our SEO web development services put keyword mapping, crawl structure, schema and Core Web Vitals into the build itself, so your site launches ready to rank. Plans start at $199.

What Is SEO Web Development?
SEO web development is the practice of building a website so that search engines and AI answer engines can crawl, render, understand and cite it, rather than adding optimization after launch. It covers URL architecture, semantic HTML, render method, internal link structure, JSON-LD schema, Core Web Vitals and indexation control, all decided during the build rather than patched afterward. You will also see it called SEO web design, SEO website design services, or SEO friendly website development. Same discipline, different labels.
Who it is for
New builds, redesigns and migrations where search traffic matters
What it covers
Architecture, rendering, speed, schema, crawl control, content templates
Typical price
$199 for 5 pages up to $999 for 50 pages, custom above that
Usual timeline
1 to 6 weeks from kickoff to launch, depending on page count
A Pretty Website That Google Cannot Read Is a Brochure
Here is how it usually goes. A design studio builds something beautiful. It launches. Traffic flatlines. Six months later an SEO agency gets hired to fix it, and the first thing they find is that the fix needs a developer.
So you pay twice. Once to build it, once to unbuild the parts that block rankings. The URLs were set in a page builder nobody can change. The copy lives inside a JavaScript component Googlebot renders late or not at all. Every page shares one title template. There is no schema anywhere.
None of that is a design problem. It is a decision made in week one of development that nobody questioned. Our SEO website design services close that gap by putting the SEO lead in the build meeting, not the post-mortem.
Build First vs SEO-Led Build
| Decision | Build first, fix later | SEO web development |
|---|---|---|
| URL structure | Set by the page builder | Mapped to keyword clusters |
| Rendering | Client-side by default | Server-rendered or static |
| Schema markup | Plugin, if at all | Built into each template |
| Core Web Vitals | Measured after launch | Budgeted before first commit |
| Internal links | Whatever the menu does | Planned hub and spoke |
| Cost of a fix | Second project, second invoice | Included in the build |
What Our SEO Web Development Services Include
An SEO friendly website needs all of the areas below, not three of them. Click any tab to see what happens at each stage of the build.
Planned URL MapExample
| URL | Primary keyword | Intent |
|---|---|---|
| / | brand + category | Mixed |
| /services/ | service keyword | Buyer |
| /services/repairs/ | long tail service | Buyer |
| /blog/how-to-x/ | question keyword | Info |
Keyword Mapping and Site Architecture
Before a single wireframe, we build the URL map. One primary keyword per page, no two pages chasing the same term, and a hub-and-spoke structure so your money pages sit within three clicks of the homepage.
- Intent Sorted Informational, commercial and transactional split across separate URLs.
- Flat Crawl Depth Nothing important hidden five levels down.
- Cannibalization Check Run against your existing pages before anything is published.
Document Outline
<main>
<h1> One per page
<section> <h2>
<article> <h3>
</main>
<footer>
Semantic HTML and Heading Structure
Real headings, real lists, real landmarks. Search crawlers and screen readers both read the same document outline, which is why accessible markup and crawlable markup end up being the same job.
- One H1 Per Page Headings nested in order, never skipped for styling.
- Landmark Regions Header, nav, main, article and footer correctly marked.
- Described Media Alt text and ARIA labels where they actually help.
Performance BudgetExample
Core Web Vitals Performance Budget
We set a performance budget at kickoff and hold the build to it. A hero image gets a weight limit. A third-party script has to justify its cost in milliseconds before it ships.
- Mobile Thresholds LCP under 2.5s, INP under 200ms, CLS under 0.1.
- Modern Images WebP and AVIF with explicit width and height attributes.
- Critical CSS Inlined Everything else deferred so first paint stays fast.
Rich Result PreviewExample
Fixed quotes, same crew start to finish. Free survey booked online.

Schema Markup and Entity Signals
Structured data is how a machine learns what your business actually is. We write JSON-LD by hand into each template and connect it with @id references, so Organization, Service, Product and FAQ all point back to one entity.
- Full Type Coverage Organization, LocalBusiness, Service, Product, Article, FAQPage.
- Breadcrumbs Everywhere BreadcrumbList on every template, not just the blog.
- Verified Profiles sameAs links tying your brand to its real accounts.
Rendered vs Raw Source
| Element | In raw HTML |
|---|---|
| H1 and body copy | Yes |
| Internal links | Yes |
| Schema JSON-LD | Yes |
| Tab and accordion text | Yes |
Rendering and JavaScript SEO
If your copy only exists after hydration, you are gambling on a render queue. We ship server-rendered or statically generated HTML for anything that needs to rank, and keep client-side work for things that do not.
- SSR or SSG Used for every indexable route on the site.
- Source Checked Rendered DOM compared against raw HTML before launch.
- Nothing Hidden No content locked behind tabs, accordions or scroll events.
Indexation RulesExample
| URL pattern | Rule |
|---|---|
| /products/ | Index |
| /products/?sort= | Canonical |
| /tag/ | Noindex |
| /cart/ /checkout/ | Noindex |
Crawl Control and Indexation
Big sites waste crawl budget on pages nobody should see. Filters, sort parameters, tag archives and staging copies all leak. We decide what gets indexed before launch, not after Search Console complains.
- Directives Shipped robots.txt, XML sitemaps and canonical tags from day one.
- Faceted Navigation Rules that let category pages rank without parameter bloat.
- Multi-Region Ready hreflang for multi-language and multi-country sites.
Redirect MapExample
| Old URL | New URL | Code |
|---|---|---|
| /old-services.php | /services/ | 301 |
| /about-us.html | /about/ | 301 |
| /blog?p=42 | /blog/post-name/ | 301 |
| /temp-page/ | removed | 410 |
Migration and Redirect Safety
Redesigns lose rankings when URLs change and nobody maps them. We crawl the old site, match every URL that holds links or traffic, and test the redirect map on staging before DNS moves.
- Full Inventory Every URL listed with its traffic and backlink data.
- One to One Real 301 targets, never a blanket redirect to the homepage.
- Watched After Post-launch crawl and Search Console monitoring for 30 days.
What Makes a Page Citable
- A direct answer within the first screen
- Clean HTML, not text buried in scripts
- Tables and definition lists a model can lift
- Valid JSON-LD that resolves to one entity
- The same brand and service names sitewide
AI Search and LLM Visibility
AI answer engines pull from pages they can parse quickly. Clear definitions, direct answers near the top, tables, and marked-up FAQs give a model something clean to lift and cite.
- Answer Blocks Written for extraction, placed where a model looks first.
- Plain HTML Data Comparison tables and definition lists instead of images.
- Consistent Entities One spelling of your brand and services across the site.
AI citations depend on how each system selects sources and cannot be guaranteed.
A Team That Ships Products, Not Just Client Sites
Most SEO agencies hire developers. We are a development team that learned SEO because our own products needed it. Three live platforms, and more than a thousand client websites, run on code this team wrote.
Knockio
Field service CRM
Knockio runs canvassing, territory mapping, route planning, lead tracking, proposals and e-signatures for field teams in roofing, solar, HVAC, pest control and fiber. It ships as a web app plus iOS and Android, and is listed on G2 and Gartner Peer Insights.
- Web app, iOS, Android and REST API
- Industry landing pages with FAQ schema
- Multi-tenant workspaces, live rep tracking
Digix CRM
Sales and client ops
Digix CRM handles the full client lifecycle: lead capture, pipeline stages, quoting, task assignment and reporting. Building it taught the team how to make a heavy authenticated application still serve fast public marketing pages from one codebase.
- Role-based dashboards and automation rules
- Public and app routes split for speed
- Permissioned record access across teams
Consolidata
Data and reporting
Consolidata pulls scattered business data into one reporting layer so teams stop reconciling four spreadsheets every Monday. The reporting engine behind it is the same one we use to build client-facing SEO dashboards.
- Ingestion pipelines and normalization
- Programmatic page templates from one dataset
- Scheduled syncs across connected sources
Why this matters for your website. A team that maintains its own products has to live with its architecture decisions for years. That changes how we build for you. We do not hand over a site held together by nineteen plugins, because we would never run our own platform that way.
Websites That Book Jobs, Not Just Look Good
Six live builds from the same development team, across dental, rental, ecommerce and professional services. Each one started with a keyword map, then got designed to fit it.
Plus more than a thousand other builds across dental, legal, home services, SaaS and ecommerce. Ask for the full list during your consultation.
Our SEO Web Development Process
Six stages. You know what is happening in each one, and you sign off before we move on.
Research and Keyword Map
We pull search demand for your market, group it into clusters, and turn that into a URL map. You approve the sitemap before anything gets designed. This is the stage that prevents cannibalization two years from now.
Architecture and Wireframes
Templates, heading hierarchy, internal link paths and the performance budget get set here. We also decide the render method per route, because that single choice decides whether Google sees your copy on the first pass.
Design and Build
Design happens inside the structure, not the other way around. Every template ships with its schema, its meta pattern, its image rules and its accessibility checks already done.
Pre-Launch Technical QA
A full crawl on staging. Rendered DOM compared against source. Redirect map tested URL by URL. Core Web Vitals measured on a throttled mobile connection, not on your office wifi.
Launch and Monitor
Sitemap submitted, Search Console and Analytics verified, indexation watched daily for the first two weeks. If something slips, we catch it while it is still a small problem.
Handover and Training
You get the documented structure, the keyword map and a walkthrough of how to publish without breaking anything. The site is yours to run, whether you keep working with us or not.
Who Needs SEO Web Development Services
SEO web design pays for itself fastest in these six situations.
Building a brand new site
Nothing to undo. This is the cheapest moment in your site’s life to get the structure right.
Planning a redesign
Redesigns are where rankings go to die. A redirect map and a URL inventory prevent that.
Traffic dropped after launch
Usually indexation, render or redirect related. We find which of the three it was.
SaaS with public and app routes
Marketing pages and an authenticated app on one domain, without either slowing the other.
Ecommerce filters are a mess
Faceted navigation, canonical rules and Product schema that let collections actually rank.
You want to appear in AI answers
Clean HTML, direct answers and consistent entity signals give a model something to cite.

SEO Web Development Services FAQ
What is the difference between SEO web development and regular web development?
Regular web development optimizes for how a site looks and functions for people. SEO web development adds a second requirement: the site must also be crawlable, renderable and understandable by search engines and AI models. In practice that changes the URL structure, the render method, the markup and the performance budget. The visible design can end up identical. What sits underneath it does not.
Is SEO web development the same as SEO web design?
They describe the same discipline. SEO web design, SEO website design services and SEO friendly website development all refer to building a site so search engines and AI answer engines can crawl, render and understand it, rather than optimizing it after launch. Design emphasizes the visual layer and development emphasizes the code underneath. In practice the same decisions about URL structure, rendering, markup and page speed drive the result.
How much do SEO web development services cost?
Our packages run $199 for up to 5 optimized pages, $499 for a 15-page business site, and $999 for a 50-page authority build with ecommerce or booking. Larger SaaS platforms and multi-location sites are scoped individually. Across the wider market, SEO-led builds typically range from a few hundred dollars for a small site to five figures for enterprise work, and the variable is almost always page count and the number of custom templates.
How long does an SEO-optimized website take to build?
A 5-page starter site takes about a week. A 15-page site runs two to three weeks. A 50-page build with ecommerce usually lands in four to six weeks. Migrations add time because the redirect map has to be tested before DNS moves, and that step is not worth rushing.
Can you fix SEO on a website someone else built?
Yes, and that is a large share of what we do. We start with a crawl to find what is actually blocking rankings. Sometimes it is a handful of fixes. Sometimes the platform itself cannot produce clean URLs or server-rendered HTML, and a rebuild costs less than fighting it. We tell you which situation you are in before you spend anything.
Will a redesign hurt my current rankings?
It can, and it usually does when nobody maps the old URLs to the new ones. The damage comes from broken redirects, changed URL patterns and content that quietly got cut. We inventory every URL that holds traffic or backlinks, build a one-to-one 301 map, and test it on staging. Done properly, a redesign is a ranking opportunity rather than a risk.
Does WordPress or a custom build rank better?
Neither one has an inherent ranking advantage. Google reads the HTML your platform produces, not the platform. WordPress wins when your team needs to publish without a developer. A custom or headless build wins when you need speed at scale, complex templates, or an application and a marketing site on one domain. We recommend based on who maintains the site after launch.
How do you make a website show up in ChatGPT and AI Overviews?
AI systems favor pages they can parse fast and trust. That means a direct answer near the top of the page, clean semantic HTML rather than content buried in scripts, tables and definition lists a model can lift cleanly, valid JSON-LD, and consistent naming of your brand and services across the whole site. We build all of that into the templates. No agency can guarantee an AI citation, but these are the signals that make one possible.
Do you handle the SEO after the site launches?
The build includes 30 days of indexation monitoring. After that, ongoing work moves to our on-page SEO services or technical SEO services, depending on what the site needs. Plenty of clients take the build and run it themselves, which is fine. The structure is documented either way.
Works Best With the Rest of the System
A build gets you a search-ready foundation. These keep it moving once it is live.
Technical SEO
Crawlability, indexing and speed work on sites that are already live.
On Page SEO
Titles, content, internal links and schema optimized page by page from $99.
AI SEO
Entity signals and answer formats built for AI Overviews and LLM citation.
Build It Right
the First Time
Send us your current site or your plan for a new one. You get a free build audit back: what is blocking rankings, what it would take to fix, and whether a rebuild is actually cheaper than the repair. No charge, no pitch deck.
What the Audit Checks
- Whether your copy renders before Googlebot gives up
- Which URLs compete with each other for the same keyword
- Core Web Vitals on a throttled mobile connection
- Schema coverage and validation errors
- Crawl waste from filters, tags and parameters
Results vary by market, competition, website history, implementation and platform behavior. Rankings, traffic, leads and AI citations cannot be guaranteed.
